*** Update: #2, Tara, is the winner of the Umami Paste! ~Lyndi ***
(It’s Day 7, the final day)
Umami.
The “extra” taste frontier.
Have you heard about it?
Experienced it?
Often referred to as the “fifth taste” after
sweet, sour, bitter, and salty, umami was officially recognized as basic taste
in 1985.
What does it taste like?
Here’s a great definition: “it
can be described as a pleasant "brothy" or "meaty" taste
with a long lasting, mouthwatering and coating sensation over the tongue.”
A savory deliciousness.
Mmmm…
I’m going to use that phrase sometime today in everyday conversation.
What to experience umami for yourself?

A lucky someone will be receiving a tube of

Salty is usually my favourite, but bitter can be nice too!
ReplyDeleteWhat is this paste made of? If it is not vegetarian, feel free to draw another number should I win it.
Based on the description, my favorite may very well be umami. Would love to try it.
