Besides the fact that they are boast
ADORABLE covers, it is a blast to browse the recipes to see what was popular in
a particular time (such as mayonnaise added to just about everything).
One of my favorite things about vintage
cooking pamphlets is their ability to surprise with unknown recipes. Seriously, how many of you are
frustrated by cookbook-after-cookbook and magazine-after-magazine that
basically provide the same recipes over and over again?

My mom used to make a cake called depression cake -- no eggs --- vinegar and sour milk instead -- it was chocolate so you can not go wrong -- also called waky cake. !!
