*** THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED. Congrats to lucky #10, Kristy Brown! ***
Welcome to Day 7 of weeklong giveaways focused on all-things-local because I am celebrating my four-year blog anniversary and showering you with awesome presents.
Day 7: LOCAL BEVERAGE EXPERIENCE, a bona fide coffee cupping by Airship Coffee.
This is the real deal.
If you are, or know of someone who is a lover of a good cup of coffee, pay attention.
Airship Coffee has lifted into town. I heard mentions of this coffee house but was unable to figure out where it was. I heard mentions of its proprietor, whispered as if he was something of a coffee-god, but was unable to figure out who he was. I heard mentions of coffee cupping but was unable to figure out why it was deemed as something extremely scientific while at the same time offered around town as something as a come-and-join-our-coffee-cupping-moment event.
I am confused no longer.
An inner stirring of wanting to know everything there is about coffee, its fragrance, aroma, flavor, aftertaste, acidity, body, balance, and overall uniformity has bloomed within me. A whole world is out there for us to discover. A coffee cupping is a discovery process where you get to experience the world of coffee. I want to learn how to pair coffee with food. With you.
Does that excite you, too?
Airship Coffee in Bentonville is unique. Its proprietor, Mark Bray, is a licensed Q-grader from the Coffee Quality Institute and he has a background as agronomist with the University of Arkansas.
Did you know that there are only 1,080 Q-graders in the world and we are proud that Bentonville has one of them? Think of a Q-grader as a wine sommelier. Only, instead of grading wines, they grade coffee. Coffee cupping by someone who is trained as a Q-grader will open up your world to the possibilities of coffee.
After my first cupping I thought, “Oh wow, my whole world now is going to be all about coffee. Who has time for that? Not me, but I must. I must.”
I am hooked and I want you to experience it and learn from the expert.
A lucky someone will be a free coffee cupping experience for themselves and three of guests by Mark Bray, proprietor of Airship Coffee in Bentonville. Each of you will go home with a bag of coffee beans and a deeper understanding and appreciation of the nuances of coffee.
Contest ends Tuesday, September 17 at midnight (CDT). I will pick a winner via randomizer.
Answer the following question in the comment section.
Q: Prove to me you are a coffee lover. Tell me how coffee makes you feel.
Please make sure your comment has information that allows me to contain you such as your name, email, blog, facebook, or twitter name in case you are the winner (need help on how to leave a comment?).
